Legal information
Terms & Conditions
These terms explain how orders, payments, delivery, collection, accounts and PaintNDecorate Rewards work.
1. About us
This website is operated by Paint N Decorate Limited (company number 11293374), trading as PaintNDecorate and Bridlington Decorating Centre. Our registered office is 14 Market Place, Pocklington, York, East Yorkshire, England, YO42 2AR.
Our Bridlington shop and collection address is Unit 2A Bessingby Industrial Estate, Bessingby Way, Bridlington, YO16 4SJ. You can contact us at shop@paintndecorate.co.uk or on 01262 609946.
2. Orders and acceptance
Placing an order is an offer to buy the goods in your basket. An automatic acknowledgement confirms that we have received the order; it does not mean that we have accepted it. A contract is formed when we confirm dispatch or tell you that the order is ready for collection.
All orders are subject to availability and any checks reasonably required to prevent fraud. If we cannot supply an item, we will contact you and refund any amount paid for it.
3. Product information
We take reasonable care to keep descriptions, images, stock information and prices accurate. Packaging, colour appearance and minor product details can change. Screen and printed colours are guides only; please read our Statement of Colour Accuracy before ordering colour-critical products.
4. Prices and VAT
Unless clearly stated otherwise, consumer prices include UK VAT. Delivery charges and any available discount are shown before payment. If an obvious pricing error is discovered before dispatch, we may cancel the affected item and refund it, or ask whether you wish to proceed at the correct price.
5. Payment
Payment options shown at checkout may include debit or credit card through WooPayments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Klarna and Clearpay, depending on the device, order and the provider’s eligibility rules. Buy-now-pay-later services are separate agreements between you and the relevant provider and are subject to that provider’s terms and privacy notice.
Approved trade customers may also be offered payment on account under separate credit terms. We may withhold dispatch until payment is authorised or any applicable account checks are complete.
6. Delivery and collection
Delivery prices, eligibility, locations and estimates are set out on our Delivery & Collection page and confirmed at checkout. Delivery estimates are not guaranteed and depend on working days, stock availability, order cut-off times, the destination and carrier conditions.
Risk in the goods passes to a consumer when the goods are delivered to them, a person identified by them, or their nominated safe place. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full. Collection orders must not be collected until we have confirmed that they are ready.
7. Mixed and made-to-order goods
Paint mixed or tinted to your chosen colour and other goods made or prepared to your specification are personalised products. Once preparation has begun they cannot normally be cancelled or returned for a change of mind. This does not affect your rights if goods are faulty, misdescribed or supplied incorrectly.
8. Cancellations, returns and refunds
Consumer cancellation rights, the made-to-order exception and the process for faulty, damaged or incorrect goods are explained on our Returns, Refunds & Cancellations page. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.
9. Promotions and discount codes
Promotions may have their own dates, eligibility rules and exclusions. Unless the offer says otherwise, codes cannot be exchanged for cash, used after expiry or combined with another offer. We may withdraw or correct an offer affected by error, fraud or misuse without affecting orders already validly accepted.
10. Customer accounts
You can check out as a guest or create an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for information submitted through your account. Please tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission.
11. PaintNDecorate Rewards
Registered customers currently earn 1 point for every £1 of eligible spend, and 100 points can be redeemed for £1. The current welcome arrangement awards 250 points after the first qualifying order is completed. Points and available redemption are shown in your account or at checkout. Points are not cash, cannot be transferred or sold, and can only be used against eligible purchases on the account to which they were awarded.
Points expire 12 months after the date they are earned. We may correct or remove points awarded in error or connected with a cancelled, refunded or unpaid order. We may suspend an account or refuse redemption where there is reasonable evidence of fraud, abuse, attempted manipulation or a breach of these terms.
We may change or close the rewards scheme. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice of a material change and a fair opportunity to use valid, unexpired points. Immediate action may be taken where needed to address fraud, security, legal requirements or a serious technical error.
12. Our responsibility
We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights in relation to faulty or misdescribed goods. We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was made.
Goods bought for business use are supplied on the basis that we are not responsible for indirect loss, loss of profit, loss of business or business interruption, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13. Events outside our control
We are not responsible for delay caused by events we could not reasonably control. We will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect of the delay and will contact you where it materially affects your order.
14. Changes to these terms
The terms applying to an order are those available when the order is placed. We may update these terms for future orders to reflect changes in our services, systems or the law.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by English law. Consumers can bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom in which they live. Business customers agree that the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
