As of 2021, the color Eucalyptus has been slightly modified. Contact our team for a swatch to compare with previously purchased tins. Bedec produces in-house color shades rather than BS or RAL colors, you can request a color swatch by contacting our sales department.

Best Uses

It is also recommended for fencing, gates, farm equipment, tanks, drainpipes, doors, windows, and various garden, farm, and factory substrates. Bedec Barn Paint can be applied to previously painted surfaces, even those with weathered bitumen, tar, or varnish. It is tough, durable, and retains color well. The paint flexes with the substrate, reducing flaking or cracking, and is suitable for applications like fencing, posts, log stores, timber garden furniture, guttering, rough-sawn exteriors, and weathered galvanizing without a primer.
Versatile Coating for Various Surfaces
Bedec Barn Paint is suitable for feather-edge, waney edge, metal and plastic cladding, fencing, exterior wood, metal, brick, and concrete. It comes in 2.5, 5, 20, and 100-liter sizes. The Mahogany, Jacobean Walnut, Medium Oak, and Dark Oak shades are semi-transparent wood stains, not surface coatings, and can be tinted in most colors and finishes.
Finish Options
Bedec Barn Paint is available in a Semi-Gloss finish, with Black and White also available in Matt, Satin, and Semi-Gloss. This water-based coating is ideal for protecting exterior wooden, metal, and plastic-clad buildings. It can be applied over previously painted surfaces, including those coated with weathered bitumen, tar, or varnish. The paint is durable, with excellent color retention, and it flexes with the substrate to reduce flaking or cracking.
Application Guidelines
- Clean the surface with a suitable cleaner or a degreaser/sterilization wash for areas with green growth before applying the paint.
- No primer is required. Apply by brush, roller, or spray. The paint is touch dry within two hours.
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from contaminants before application.
- For the first coat on untreated weathered wood, new wood, cement render, plaster, brickwork, or any porous substrate, add up to 30% clean water to the paint. This acts as a primer sealer before applying two full coats of undiluted Bedec Barn Paint.
- Apply two coats of Bedec Interior/Exterior Stain Block on knots before applying the paint to reduce the rate of knots appearing through the Barn Paint.
- Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C. Stir thoroughly with a paddle mix before use. After four hours, recoat with another layer of Bedec Barn Paint.
- Light sanding is recommended for tanalized timber before painting.
